Today I am in West Virginia for my cousins high school graduation party. Of course I brought the sweet treats.

I can't believe our "Roo Babies" is off to college, where did the time go?!

Hope your Saturday was as sweet as mine.

Cupcake Flower Pot

Happy Sweet Tooth Sunday. Sorry yesterday was bathroom renovation day, there's nothing sweet about that...well the end product I guess which is fast approaching, YAY! :)

Even though we were busy with the bathroom this weekend, it still ended on a sweet note. I had an order to make today.

Cupcake Flower Pot
First bake white mini cupcakes in green liners.
Next frost them like flowers. I used the 191 tip...I think it makes them look like hydrangeas :)

Let them dry over night for the icing to harden a bit. Then take a terracotta pot and a green styrofoam ball.
Use two toothpicks per cupcake. On the toothpicks slide on leaves.

Just repeat until the styrofoam is covered.
I just love this sweet little display.

I hope your weekend was nice and sweet!

Dulce de Leche Brownies

Hi everyone! Happy Sweet Tooth Saturday and day before Cinco de Mayo. Today I am going to share with you a delicious brownie recipe that will be perfect for your Cinco de Mayo celebration.

Dulce de Leche Brownies
Ingredients:
6 oz unsweetened chocolate, chopped
1 cup butter
2 cups sugar
4 eggs
2 tsp vanilla
1 1/3 cups all purpose flour
1/2 tsp baking soda
1 cup miniature semi sweet chocolate pieces
1 7oz jar of marshmallow cream
1 cup toasted chopped pecans

Dulce de Leche:
4 cups milk
1 cup sugar
1/4 tsp baking soda
1/4 tsp vanilla extract

In a medium sauce pan cook the unsweetened chocolate and butter until smooth.
Remove from heat and cool slightly. Preheat your oven to 350 degrees. Line your 13x9 baking pan with foil and slightly grease.

Stir sugar into chocolate mixture. Add eggs, one at a time, beating with a spatula after each addition just until combined. Stir in vanilla.

In a small bowl stir together flour and baking soda.

Add flour mixture to chocolate mixture; stir just until combined. Stir in semisweet chocolate pieces. Pour batter into foiled pan. Bake for 20 to 25 minutes or until edges are set and center is almost set.
Remove brownies from oven. Immediately spoon marshmallow creme in mounds on top of hot brownies. Drop spoonfuls of dulce de leche between mounds of marshmallow creme. Let stand for a few minutes to soften. Using a table knife or narrow metal spatula, gently swirl marshmallow creme and dulce de leche together to marble. Sprinkle with pecans. Cool in pan on rack.
**To make the Dulce de Leche add all ingredients to a large sauce pan (it will try to over flow) on medium high heat. Stir vigorously for about 35 minutes. At the 20 minute mark it will start to turn a light brown and thicken. The longer you leave it on the heat the thicker it will become.

I love brownies and was leery to make homemade ones because the box mix is just so darn good. But it was definitely worth it. They were delicious and taste just as good or even batter than the box mix ;) I hope you try them out.

See you next Saturday!
